Should new students enrolled to University be made to take an aptitude test before admission.

It is seen in participation that particular individuals are well suited to higher education and perform well. Is it fair, to insist on those who are there reasons beknown to themselves undertake aptitude testing before admission. This in my opinion would allow a better learning environment for both students and lecturers.
