Is it alright to force your children to be vegetarian/vegan?

Some parents want the best for their children by forcing them to be either vegetarian or vegan because they think it is the healthier option and less animal cruelty. However, is this truly healthy for growing kids? Shouldn't we let them decide what they want to do or is it up to the parent to make that choice?
